You can run emulator with Samples using this command:
rm -f /dev/shm/rpcsx-* && ./rpcsx-os --mount "<path to fw>/system" "/system" --mount "<path to 'game' root>" /app0 /app0/some-test-sample.elf [<args for test elf>...]
